BNSF Intermodal: 2025 Thanksgiving Operating Plan

This year, BNSF will observe the Thanksgiving holiday on Thursday, November 27, and Friday, November 28. The number of trains operating on BNSF track is typically lower over the holiday due to reduced freight volume. BNSF's Intermodal holiday operating plan will adjust operations to account for this potential reduction in traffic. As a result, shipments from Tuesday, November 25, through noon on Wednesday, December 3, may experience delays of approximately 48 hours. Connecting carriers who have reduced operations for the holiday may cause delays on interline traffic.

INTERMODAL FACILITY OPERATIONS
All BNSF Intermodal hubs will observe normal working hours during the holiday period.

For interactive tracing 365 days a year, please use BNSF’s Tracing web tool by logging into the BNSF Customer Portal with your username and password and selecting Trace on the Home page. If you have questions regarding a shipment(s), please utilize the Message Us feature on the BNSF Customer Portal (must be registered/logged in to access) or contact BNSF Customer Support at 1-888-428-2673.

Customer Support will maintain a limited staff on Thanksgiving Day and Friday, November 28. Normal coverage will resume on Saturday, November 29.
